Portable Gaming without the Laptop?

This seems like a better choice for portable gaming than a laptop, to me.  No keyboard/mouse to mess with, just a controller!  Via engadget

ESRB adds irony to the Blizzard RealID saga

ESRB, while replying to people who submitted concerns over Blizzard’s RealID fiasco, revealed their e-mails by hitting ‘reply all,’ or, “people concerned with their privacy lose their privacy because of being concerned with their privacy.”

Why real names in blizzard forums is a bad thing

Nattie – a long-time WOW player – lays out precisely and in depth why RealID is such a bad idea, especially for women and minorities.

In case you think Nattie’s fears are overblown, here’s where Ryan Erickson challenges people to find out more details about him with just his name, with fairly predictable results.

A blizzard employee, Bahiok, also posted his real name to the Blizzard forum to demonstrate it was harmless, and rapidly had his facebook account, his phone number, address and many other details revealed to the world in very short order. Those posts have now been deleted, and the facebook account deleted.

2010 Blizzard Writing Contest

Blizzard has announced their 2010 writing contest.  They’re looking for short prose fiction between 2,500 and 7,500 words and set in either the Diablo, Starcraft or Warcraft universe.  To which I say fuck that, because I wanted to write some mustache fanfic based on the Lost Vikings. The deadline is August 23rd, which I can only assume to be in Blizzard Time so make sure to get it to them no later than February 2012.
