Good Old Games has decided that their shutdown was just a joke, and will be up and running and out of beta soon. “We are working hard to provide users with much fun, so do expect some great surprises until Christmas.” What’s their next joke going to be, installing a trojan that fries my motherboard? No thanks!
A fascinating and lengthy blog post (made in January but it’s making the rounds now) about a visit to a museum of Soviet-era arcade games. There are many pictures. And I am very glad I was not a child of the Soviet 80s.

Sony got spooked about the DRM on the PS3 getting cracked, so unceremoniously dumped the other-OS feature of the PS3 with a mandatory firmware update. Multiple lawsuits were filed, and they’re now bundled into a single class-action suit.
Last week, Microsoft released a public beta of SP1, with a few bits of added functionality. According to technet, SP1 proper will be released in the first half of 2011.
