I suppose it shouldn’t be a total shock, but come ON!
GOG says they were just kidding.
Good Old Games has decided that their shutdown was just a joke, and will be up and running and out of beta soon. “We are working hard to provide users with much fun, so do expect some great surprises until Christmas.” What’s their next joke going to be, installing a trojan that fries my motherboard? No thanks!

There I am, riding high on my recent separation from the Sarranid Sultanate, finally a free man. Under my command are an elite army of about 35 Swadian Knights and 40 Sarranid Mamlukes. My men are happy, morale is high, and lo and behold, we stumble upon a castle with only 120 relatively weak soldiers guarding it! And better yet, it is a filthy Vaegir stronghold. After suffering under the orders of Sultan Hakim for too many months, I think it is high time I strike out on my own, and stake a claim in this land of Calradia. The castle in question also borders the lands of the Sarranid, with whom I still have fairly high esteem, so chances are good I can make peace with them, and have only the Vaegir swine to contend with on my other border if I manage to storm this castle.

Games and Gaming Reviews

Now that Worms: Reloaded has been out for a week, I figured it’s high time we got a review for it all up in here. I feel there should probably be some disclosure though: I LOVE ARTILLERY GAMES. I have loved them ever since playing Gorillas in QBasic in elementary school with similarly quick-typing, computer-savvy friends (this and Nibbles made those miserable typing classes bearable when you’d finish the half-hour lesson in five minutes!).

Civilization IV is a fantastic game. In fact, any game starting with “Sid Meier’s” is probably going to be awesome. But the Civilization series in particular has always gripped me, and kept me playing for hours on end. There’s something so satisfying about finally taking over the world through an ideal combination of war, politics, culture, science and/or religion.

So there you are, having just finished riding out into the middle of nowhere Mexico to find that last damn woolly blue curl for your Survivalist challenge, and blammo, you fall down a little cliff that your 90yr old grandmother could have stepped down and your horse dies. Now, you have a couple choices here:
- Walk in the direction you want to go and wait until your horse re-spawns and you can whistle for it again.
- Find the nearest road and shoot the first person you see and take their horse.

In a game world, one would think the choice would be obvious: Shoot a dude and take his horse. After all, you’ve got places to go, and this is the Wild West, where it’s every man for himself. Also, that’s not a real dude! But what do I do? I walk.

Amazon published some Kindle Games!
Though apparently I’m late to the game, as there have been other games
available for a while now.
My Kindle just got that much more addictive! Though I’ve always been terrible at Scrabble, I’m going to have to give these games a shot, especially since they’re free! Sorry, original Kindle 1 owners need not apply.
Portable Gaming without the Laptop?
This seems like a better choice for portable gaming than a laptop, to me. No keyboard/mouse to mess with, just a controller! Via engadget
